ENTERPRISE STREAM

Legal Advice

Our aim in providing services under this stream is to fill the gap in existing services by offering business owners, who do not have the financial capacity to pay market rates for lawyers, reduced cost legal advice.

Business owners, who meet our eligibility criteria, can receive free information over the telephone in relation to:

  • Intellectual property.
  • Employment law.
  • Superannuation and insurance.
  • Insolvency and bankruptcy.
  • Telecommunications.
  • Commercial law and practice.
  • Taxation law.
  • Trade Practices Act matters.
  • Leasing and property agreements (lesee disputes).
  • Building and construction matters.

The types of matters we can help you with:

  • I am about to start up my own business. What are my superannuation obligations? How does workers compensation operate? What insurances will I need?
  • I have decided that in order to grow my business I will need to take on extra staff. How do I draft an employment contract? How will I know how much I should be paying them?
  • I have developed a great new product that I aim to start selling in the near future but I am worried that someone else will steal my ideas. How can I protect myself against this?
  • My telecommunications provider has just cut-off all of my business' services. I can not afford to stay disconnected. What should I do?
  • I am starting my own business and I'm not sure what I have to lodge with the Tax Office first. What forms do I need and where can I find them?
  • My supplier is demanding that I sell my products for a particular price. Is this legal?
  • I am about to enter into a commercial lease but I am having trouble understanding some of the provisions. Where can I get clarification?
